Jackson, MI – The Delta men dropped their contest against Jackson Community College on Wednesday by the score of 78-59 and are still in search of their first win of the season. Jackson improves to 7-5 overall while the Pioneers fall to 0-9. Jackson defeated Delta earlier in the season, 82-69 at University Center.
The game was tied at halftime, 28-28 before Jackson started the second half on a tremendous run that extended the lead beyond any comeback bid by DC. The Pioneers shot just 28 percent from the floor (19-67) and 69 percent from the free throw line (18-26). They were hindered by 28 total turnovers.
Offensively, Delta was led by Tyler Ellis with 11 points while both Dan Stanback and Allante Wheeler chipped in with 10 apiece. They now travel to Mt Pleasant where they will face the Lakers in a rematch from November 14th. In that game, Delta led early before dropping a close contest, 80-74.
