Delta’s Struggles Continue, Gain Great Experience for later in the Season
Delta Golfers Improve Their Team Score, Still Have Room to Improve.
The second tournament of the season featured a golf course that a majority of the players had never seen before and it caused some issues. An eleventh place finish in the tournament will leave the Pioneers with room to improve moving forward. This is a golf course that the guys will see again later in the season as it is the host of the State Tournament in the spring.
For the second tournament in a row, Nick Brewer and Guy Beaudet led the way in scoring for the Pioneers with an 82 and 84 respectively.
There are definite building blocks in the performance from the Pioneers Friday, as they collectively shaved three strokes off of their team total, showing that they are moving in the right direction.
"We will look to rebound on Monday at Rackham Golf Course in Huntington Woods," Head Coach Kyle Middleton said after the meet. "I expect one, if not more, of our freshmen to step up at this tournament and help out the team now that they have a couple matches under their belts."
Looking ahead for the Pioneers, they travel to participate in the Henry Ford College Invitational at Rackham Golf Club.
