Delta Soccer Sees Successful Recruit Day
Annual Recruit Day Sees Four Sign LOI
University Center – The 2nd annual DC Women's Soccer recruit day took place on Sunday, February 8th in the Pioneer gym with overwhelming success. A total of 16 potential recruits attended the event which is designed as a way for talent to get in front of the Delta coaches in a setting where evaluation can take place.
"I am extremely pleased with the participation and outcome of this Recruit Day," said fourth year women's coach Paul Stenglein. "We were able to see a lot of talented players as they were challenged to show their skills in numerous fast paced high pressure activities."
Players spent four hours at the event and were joined by current and former Delta players as they underwent a condensed training session currently used for the women's team. Potential recruits also scrimmaged in the Pioneer gym in smaller teams which again allowed the coaches to match up incoming talent with current roster players.
""I am so thankful for the participation of our current and past players, as well as some of their parents. They helped answer important questions that recruits and their parents had," said Stenglein.
A question and answer period took place at the conclusion of the event where parents of recruits were able to inquire about all areas DC Soccer, including class scheduling, costs, practice requirements and housing for out of district players.
On the day, four player signed National Letters of Intent to play at Delta for the 2015 season while another handful gave verbal commitments.
"This was a very successful day that formed the foundation for our 2015 Team," said Coach Stenglein. "I am really excited about the talent and athleticism of our 2015 recruits."
