Blundell Signs with Lourdes University
Joins Destiny Wallace as Second Pioneer to Sign with Wolves
Sylvania, OH - Lourdes University head coach Jackie Donovan has announced that Tara Blundell has signed a letter of intent to transfer to the school to continue her soccer career.
"Tara brings a great deal of versatility to our team make up," Donovan stated. "Technically she's comfortable with the ball at her feet and she possesses a high level of execution. Her speed will also be a huge asset in the fall."
A native of Essexville, Mich., Blundell has been playing at Delta College for the past two seasons where she earned All-Michigan Community College Athletic Association honors as well as was named to the NJCAA All-Region 12 Team. As a freshman, Blundell was also named to the NJCAA Region 12 All-Freshman Team.
A forward for the Pioneers, Blundell scored nine goals and added two assists during her freshman season. She registered four match-winning goals for Delta during her rookie year. As a sophomore in 2014, she tallied three assists.
A product of Garber High School, Blundell scored 124 goals and tallied 56 assists, both of which were school records, during her prep career with the Dukes. She was a Second Team All-State selection as a senior. Garber won a pair of district titles during her four years, and she was a four-time All-District and All Tri-Valley Conference selection.
Blundell played her club soccer for Vardar '95, which was ranked number one in the state of Michigan. Her club team advanced to the semifinals of the State Cup.
