John Glenn Duo Sign with Lady Pioneers
Symborski, Viet added to 2015 class
University Center, MI - Delta College women's head soccer coach Paul Stenglein is pleased to announce the signing of Bridget Symborski and Katie Veit to the 2015 roster. The Bay City John Glenn pair are both defenders on their current high school team.
"Both players have outstanding defensive skills and knowledge," said Stenglein. Katie is capable of playing as an outside or center defender and Bridget has proven to be able to do the same."
Symborski is a three year starter at Glenn and received All-Conference and All-District the past two seasons. She was also selected as the team Defensive Player of the Year, Defensive MVP and Team Enforcer while at Glenn. She will pursue a career in the medical field and plans to obtain an associates degree in Applied Science while at Delta.
Katie Veit has been a member of the John Glenn varsity team for four years, starting all four seasons. In 2014, she was named the defensive MVP for the team while collecting All-Conference honors and being named to the Bay City News Dream Team.
"I wanted to take full advantage of all the opportunities Delta has to offer," said Veit. "Playing soccer while still being able to focus on my studies is something I can get here that I can't get anywhere else."
"Both players will make an immediate impact on strengthening an already solid defensive group," said Stenglein. "Katie is an oustanding scholastic high school student that has a very impressive 4.0 GPA while Bridget's athleticism will open up a number of different options on how we run our defensive formation."
