Kalyn Breckenridge Named NJCAA D3 Keeper of the Week
Breckenridge’s strong play in net has earned her Keeper of the Week honors.
The backbone of the #6 ranked Delta Lady Pioneers has received a well deserving honor. Freshman Kalyn Breckenridge has been named the NJCAA D3 Keeper of the Week, for her outstanding play not only last week, but also on the season. Breckenridge has recorded seven shutouts on the season and only allowed one goal in two of the other three games.
"I have known Kalyn for over ten years, and when I first met her on the travel team that I help coach, I could tell that she was going to be a very good player," Head Coach Paul Stenglien said. "In high school, when I coached against her, I knew that she was developing into an outstanding keeper. When she committed to Delta, and chose to become a Pioneer, I knew we had a top notch keeper."
This is a great individual honor for Kalyn, but it is also a testament to how good the defensive unit is for the Lady Pioneers. The team looks to continue their great defense with a game on Friday at Alma College.
