Myrtle Beach, SC - The Skippers started their third day of games in South Carolina with a game against the Delta College Pioneers on Thursday, March 7th.

The Pioneers started the game by putting up 5 runs in the first three innings before the Skippers could counter with 4 in the bottom of the third. Unfortunately, the Skippers couldn't hold the Pioneers and ultimately lost 8-6 after a stretch of runs scored in the sixth inning. Despite the loss, the Skippers hit the ball well. Natalie Douglas and Brandi Bassett went 3-4. Douglas had 2 doubles and 2 RBIs alongside MaKynna Saltzman, Brandi Bassett, and Mira Helsel who all had an RBI as well. Bassett also stole two bases in order to put herself into scoring position for the Skippers.

Kaylie Rickert got the start for the Skippers but was pulled from the game after 2.2 innings and giving up 5 runs and 8 hits. Brandi Bassett took the reins to wrap up the game by striking out 3 batters and allowing 1 hit.

The Skippers follow up this game with another against Kankakee Community College to finish of day 3.
