DC Golf Team Tee's Off 2016-17 Season
Finish sixth at Kirtland CC invitational

Roscommon, MI – The 2016-2017 version of the Delta College men's golf team began their fall season on Friday with the Kirtland Community College invitational. The eight member Pioneer team, consisting of six freshmen and two sophomores, shot a 323 as a team which was good enough for a sixth place finish at the nine team invitational.
"That score tied the best score our team reached all of last year," said second year coach Kyle Middleton. "I'm pretty happy with this result. It shows we're taking strides in the right direction as a program."
DC was led by freshmen Ian Villenueve and sophomore Jason Middleton who each shot a 78. Freshman Nicholas Fisher (82) and sophomore Tyler Glaza (85) each contributed to the final 323 score while freshman Shawn Bolen (87) finished two strokes out.
The men's golf team compete throughout the week for a chance to contribute during the conference season.
"We started off hot but struggled towards the end of the day," said Middleton.
Delta next heads to Henry Ford CC on Monday to take part in the Henry Ford Invitational with a tee off time of 10am. Rounding out the potential roster is freshmen Shawn Bolin, Chaz Fowler, Brennan McNally and Matt Ropp.
