Lady Pioneers Open Their Fall Season
Delta looks to build momentum for the spring in their fall league.
The fall season for the Softball team is officially underway as the Lady Pioneers traveled to Sienna Heights for a weekend tournament.
In the first game, Makenna Smith and Emilee Robart each hit triples leading the way on offense. St. Mary's would take control of the game scoring 13 runs on offense. Kaylee Cypher took the loss on the mound for Delta.
Game two featured a turn in the outcome as Delta came out victorious with the 6-4 win over the host school Sienna Heights. Kalen Tchorzynski got the win on the mound and Alex Appold came in and recorded the save. Smith added two hits continuing her hot start from the first game. Robart added a double and Tchorzynski added a triple to help herself out on the mound.
Spring Arbor was the third opponent of the afternoon and Delta finished the game with a 10-1 win. Appold got the win, adding to her save to have a good afternoon on the bump. Tchorzynski had her second triple over the span of the day in game three with Madison Gentry also adding a triple. Brianna Foltz also added two hits for the Lady Pioneer offense.
On the afternoon the Lady Pioneers went 2-1 and played very well. They will look to carry the momentum from the final two games into their next fall contest.
