Delta College Narrowly Falls to Mott Community College, 57-56, in a Nail-Biting Contest

December 4, 2024 – In a thrilling matchup at Pioneer Gym, the Delta College Pioneers (2-7) were narrowly defeated by Mott Community College (5-2) with a final score of 57-56. Despite a strong start, the Pioneers struggled in the second half, allowing Mott to claw their way back and ultimately take the lead in the final minutes of the game.

Promising First Half for the Pioneers

The Pioneers came out of the gate with an energetic first quarter, outscoring Mott 18-8 and building a 10-point lead. However, Mott responded in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to just 32-28 at halftime. Delta's offense, which had been clicking early on, was stifled in the second half as they struggled to find consistent scoring.
