PIONEERS TOP JACKSON CC
Game Outcome:
Delta College hosted Jackson CC for an important conference game. This was a special day for the Pioneers because they were celebrating Sophomore Day. Delta scored their game winning goal in the seventh minute of the game when Emily Bucholtz sent a deep cross to Arizona Cray who drove a shot past the Jets Keeper. The Pioneers would add two more goals to take a significant 3-0 lead into halftime. Delta would add five more goals in the second half to earn an 8-0 shutout victory for the Pioneers. This win brings Delta's record to 15-0-0 in the conference and 17-0-0 overall, which keeps them in first place in the MCCAA.
Standout Players of the Game:
Two goals each by both Kendall Jackson and Rhianna Schermerhorn insured this crucial conference victory. Tristen Cross and her defensive teammates earned another shutout and made this the 15th shutout for the season.
Highlights from the game:
With 3 first half goals, the Pioneers were able to feel more comfortable and enjoy the celebration of Sophomore Day. The whole Pioneer team played at an extremely high level and gifted their sophomore teammates with this important victory. The Pioneers remain in a one game lead in the MCCAA standings.

Coach's Comments:
Coach Damon Amey was extremely pleased to earn this important conference victory on Sophomore Day at Delta College. We are fortunate to get a number of challenging games at the end of the season as we prepare for the postseason tournaments. We will regroup and get ready for another tough game against Schoolcraft on next Wednesday. That game will determine the conference title.
Adjustments for the next Game:
We will continue to focus on a controlled creative combination game in the final attacking third of the field. The Pioneers will be traveling to Lakeland CC on Saturday the 14th. The Pioneers currently have a #1 National ranking.
