Batavia, NY - Delta (MI) defeated Mohawk Valley (NY) 3-0 to win the 2024 NJCAA
Division III Women's Soccer Championship in Batavia, New York. This title marks
the second in the Pioneers program history and first since 2020.
Three different Pioneers scored in the championship match. Mohawk Valley's
runner-up finish is the second time in the last three years they finished in second
place.
Isabella Workman scored the first goal
of the match in the 21'. This goal set the
stage for the Pioneers to complete the
perfect season. Workman would later
be awarded the tournament's Most
Valuable Player award.
Across three games in the tournament,
Delta outscored opponents 17 to 0 and
one allowed one shot on goal across
three games.
Mohawk Valley had a hard fought road
to the championship game. They
defeated Regional foe Onondaga (NY) in
penalty kicks in the first round.
Delta's Anna Sabo was named the
Most Valuable Defensive Player.
The Pioneers head coach Damon
Amey won his second Coach of the
Tournament Award of his career.
The Most Valuable Player award was
awarded to Isabella Workman, who
scored five goals across three games
this week.
