Delta Dominates Second Half to Defeat Kirtland, 78-55
The Delta College women's basketball team secured a dominant 78-55 road victory over Kirtland Community College on Saturday, February 8, 2025. A strong second-half performance propelled the Pioneers to their fourth conference win of the season.
Delta took control early, leading 31-22 after the first quarter. After a scoreless second quarter for both teams, the Pioneers exploded in the third, putting up 47 points to seal the victory. Their defensive intensity and rebounding advantage proved to be key factors in the win.
Key Performances
Hailee Jefferson led the way for Delta with 13 points on an efficient 6-for-9 shooting, while Amari'A Campbell provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and six rebounds. Kayla Howell stuffed the stat sheet with five points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Ja'Leeah Griggs contributed seven points, 10 rebounds, and four steals.
Off the bench, Annaka Neetz added eight points and four rebounds, and Racquel Hernandez-Alainz knocked down two three-pointers to finish with six points.
Team Effort
Delta shot 34.9% from the field and 18.5% from beyond the arc. The Pioneers controlled the glass, outrebounding Kirtland 48-44 and forcing 25 turnovers with their aggressive defense.

"We did what we were supposed to do to beat the teams we are supposed to beat and prepared for the teams that are going to bring it to you," said Delta's head coach. "Good team win."
