Delta Upsets Glen Oaks Community College
Delta College (2-1) traveled to Centreville, Michigan to take on an undefeated Glen Oaks team (3-0) with two starters sidelined due to injuries. The Pioneers walked away with a 77-68 win to end the Oakes 3-0 start.
Delta College got help from its bench on Saturday as they handed the Oakes their first loss of the season 77-68. With two starters sidelined with injuries, the Pioneers went to their bench where they managed to find plenty of help. Delta managed a 6 point lead at the break, 35-29 and continued to extend it through most of the second half. With a 15 point lead late in the game, Glen Oaks made one last run to cut the lead to 4 points but the Pioneers were able to make freethrows down the stretch which helped it cement the win. The Pioneers hit 23 of 29 free throw attempts in the game but were 14 of 16 in the second half making good on their last 12 attempts. Caleb McIntosh led Delta with 20 points followed by Austin Marines 13 points and 15 rebound performance. Tre Johnson and Justinn Bernard added 11 and 10 points respectively. The Pioneers are now 3-1 on the season.
