Softball Starts Season with 9-4 Start During Spring Training
The Lady Pioneers started off the season strong with a 9-4 run on their first 13 games of the season. During the week the Lady Pioneers averaged just under 10 runs a game and earned a team batting average of .380. Feb 28: DH vs Union College
Game 1: W, 11-3 (5 innings); WP: Kristie Gray;
Game 2: W, 14-7 (6 innings); WP: Maddie Gentry, 3K
In the first double header of the season, the Lady Pioneers bats were not shy, boasting 12 hits for 11 runs in the first game and 20 hits for 14 runs in the second game. In the first game Kaylie Scott and Kelsie Dilts each hit a double and hit in 2 and 3 runs respectively; also picking up RBIs were Kristie Gray, Gillian Schloop and Allsion Robbins. In the second game Kendra Stockwell picked up a pair of doubles and Scott added another; they each had 3 RBIs. Schloop and Robbins each added 2 RBIs and JC Rezler added one.
March 2:
Game 1: vs Mercyhurst NE, L, 0-13 (5 innings); LP: Kristie Gray, 4K
The first game in Florida was not as successful as the first two games, losing to a Mercyhurst NE. The girls were making solid contact, but Rezler was the only batter to manage to push a ball in the gap.
Game 2: vs Muskegon CC, W, 17-1 (5 innings); WP: Maddie Gentry, 5K
The Lady Pioneers didn't let the first game effect their performance, in the night cap as they very easily handled Muskegon CC.

March 3:
Game 1: vs Glen Oaks CC, W, 8-0 (5 innings); WP: Kristie Gray, 3K
The Lady Pioneers bats continued to stay hot into the second day in Florida.
2B: Stockwell, Dilts; 3B: Dilts; HR: Gray; RBI: Gray (3), Stockwell (2); Scott,Dilts, Rezler
Game 2: vs Muskegon CC, W, 5-4; WP: Gillian Schloop, 2K; Maddie Gentry, 10K
In a much closer game against Muskegon CC, Schloop came in to relieve Gentry off the mound to keep the Lady 'Neers up to pick up a win. Robbins and Gray picked up the RBIs for this game. It was an offensive and defensive battle all the way until the 7th inning.
March 4:
Game 1: vs William Penn Univ.,W, 17-5 (5 innings); WP; Gillian Schloop, 2K
Another morning game, another day for the Lady Pioneers to pick up more W's.

Game 2: vs Wartburg College, W, 10-5; WP: Gillian Schloop, 6K
In game two for the day the Lady Pioneers continued to show their offensive dominance;

March 5:
Game 1: vs Mercyhurst NE, L, 10-4; LP: Maddie Gentry, 3K; Gillian Schloop, K
In a much more competitive game against the Saints of Mercyhurst, the Lady Pioneers showed them really what our offense could do. 3B: Jones; Dilts hit her first ever HR, RBI: Jones, Scott, Dilts
Game 2: vs College of Central Florida, L, 0-4; LP: Gillian Schloop, 2K
Even though they lost to a DI JuCo, the Lady Pioneers did not lay down and picked up some big defensive plays to keep a very tough offensive lineup at bay. Jones and Dilts were the only ones to get on that game.
March 7:
Game 1: vs Northland CC, W, 15-10; WP: Kristie Gray, 6K; Maddie Gentry, 2K

March 8:
Game 1: vs Jackson College, L, 9-8; LP: Maddie Gentry, 3K
The Lady Pioneers battled all the way through 7 innings, but came up just one run short in the bottom of the 7th, falling to Jackson College

Game 2: vs Niagara CCC, W, 15-2; WP: Kristie Gray,
After a tough loss in the first game, the Lady Pioneers came back with a bang, scoring 15 runs in their last game in Florida.
