Soccer Signs Jones to National Letter of Intent
Delta College head women's soccer coach Paul Stenglein is pleased to announce the signing of Aleisha Jones to a National Letter of Intent to play soccer for Delta in the 2015 season. Jones is a Midland resident and four year varsity player at Midland High school.
"We are really excited to have Aleisha join the Delta family as a Pioneer this coming fall," said Stenglein. "Not only is she an outstanding player, she is an outstanding young lady."
During her time at Midland High, Jones earned second team All-Saginaw Valley league as a sophomore and first team all-league and all-district during her junior season.
"Aleisha will have an immediate impact on our attacking unit, and we expect her to be highly successful here at Delta," said Stenglein.
When Jones isn't playing soccer, she is very busy off the field as she enjoys arts and craft, baking, creative writing and spending time with animals. She prioritizes spending time with others, such as younger children and youth groups and helping at vacation bible school. Aleisha is actively involved with the Midland Community by volunteering time twice a week during the school year in the classroom at Adams Elementary, as well as helping at nursing homes. She has also been very active outside the community with mission trips to Milwaukee, Chicago, Long Island, Flint, and Butler Pennsylvania.
Said Jones, "I chose to play at Delta because the team seemed like a good group of hard working girls, and I really wanted to play soccer in college."
