Delta Players Earn Rewards after a Successful 2017 Season
Six players honored with awards after a historic season
"Damon (Amey) and I are so thrilled to have had the privilege of leading these great young Pioneer ladies this past season," Paul Stenglein said.
A 15-2-2 overall record and an 8-1-1 record in MCCAA Conference play, both marks setting a Delta program record, is sure to bring a lot of attention to the program.
"Damon and I are so extremely proud of this team, and these young ladies that earned these great individual honors," Stenglein continued. "The team chemistry was so important for our ability to succeed this season, and was maybe the best that I have ever experienced in my 25 years of coaching."
This year, the team was a Region 12 Playoff Champion, Region 19 Tournament Champion, NJCAA 3rd Place Finisher in the National Tournament, Ranked as high as second in the NJCAA and sixth in the NSCAA. In addition, six Lady Pioneers were rewarded with postseason honors.

"I am excited that a number of our Sophomores are planning on playing two more years now that they have finished their careers at Delta," Stenglein added. "Many universities are excited to get our Pioneer student athletes. Our Freshman class had an amazing experience this fall, and is ready to start getting prepared for another great season next fall. I am expecting that this national tournament experience will be the motivator to get us prepared for another deep run next season."
