University Center, MI – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced its NJCAA Division III Softball All-America Team on Thursday, June 8th. All-America selections are made by the NJCAA Division III Softball Committee.
Delta College infielder Alyssa Beechler earned NJCAA Division III Softball All-America honors for the 2023 season.
"Alyssa was definitely one of the team leaders. Probably the best defensive first baseman I have ever had the privilege of coaching," said Head Coach Jeremy Hartwick. "Offensively she was the one player you could always count on to drive the run in. Her knowledge of and passion for the game are insurmountable. Just an all-around great ball player and teammate."
Beechler finished the season batting .350 with 32 RBI, 4 Home Runs, 3 SB, and an on base percentage of .407.
"This announcement shows the strength and leadership qualities of our team with two players from our lineup receiving All-Region honors and now Alyssa being selected as a second team All-American," Delta College Director of Athletics Andrew Wingard said. "It is a tremendous honor for Alyssa to be mentioned as one of the best in our country."
